Agriculture

Description

As an agriculture major at Dordt, you will learn about plant and animal science, as well as the business and economic side of the industry. You’ll gain knowledge in production, processing, distribution, marketing, disposal, and more. The bachelor’s degree program offers numerous tracks to choose from including plant science, missions, biotechnology, animal science, agri-business, and ag education. Dordt’s Agriculture program offers numerous hands-on opportunities, both through Dordt’s working farm, known as the Agriculture Stewardship Center, and through internships in the local area.

Requirements

Test Optional with a cumulative high school GPA of 3.2 or higher OR cumulative GPA of 2.25 of higher and ACT composite of 19, SAT composite of 1010, or CLT composite of 65.

Social Work

Description

In Dordt University’s social work program, you’ll learn about the needs of diverse communities, become more aware of social justice, and develop skills in assessment, intervention, and evaluation. You’ll apply social work knowledge and skills in real-life settings by visiting agencies, exploring local communities, helping social service organizations, conducting research, and volunteering. Our program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Students can also choose to pursue Dordt’s accelerated 3+1 social work program, earning a Bachelor of Social Work in three years, and a Master of Social Work in a fourth year.

Requirements

Test Optional with a cumulative high school GPA of 3.2 or higher OR cumulative GPA of 2.25 of higher and ACT composite of 19, SAT composite of 1010, or CLT composite of 65.average of 70% (5 best scoring academic subjects). Applicants who are looking to transfer from another post-secondary institution are required to have an overall GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.3 scale).
